....and the winners are.....(drum roll please)

Well here it is....the moment you've all been waiting for! The winners to the Christmas Tree Contest! Thank you everyone who sent in your photos! This was not an easy decision. Partly because there were lots of really nice trees and partly because photos just don't seem to do justice to how beautiful Christmas Trees really are!

Best Bachelor tree goes to Phats. He was one of the only true bachelors that entered and i think his tree is great.

However, I just have to do a runner up in this catagory because Sideshow's Charlie Brown tree is so awesome!

Most beautiful tree goes t
o Goofy Stacy. Her tree was so pretty I just wanted to curl up under it!

Best child effort goes to
Pam. Her son decorated this tree and did a fantastic job!

Tackiest tree goes to Vince! This tree by far took the Christmas cake as far as the tackiest tree I've ever seen!

There were definately some honerable mentions in this contest! First of all, I dared Big Mama to get a picture of her sister in law's new tatoo looking over her shoulder with the tree in the background and did she ever come through!

Big Mama, "TOOT TOOT" to you! Your Fat Pig will be on its way as soon as I get your address!

Nutty had the Simpson's Characters on them , and that was really cool!

Mike H had an Oscar Mayer Weiner on his tree, and that made me laugh out loud! "TOOT TOOT!!" to you too Mike H! (Sorry Mike, Try as I might, I can't get your pictures to post either!! I tried and tried!)

49 Words had a beautifully full round tree, but I think he should get some smarties because he also sent in a picture of this awesome village he has set up!

If for some reason you don't want to send me your address, that's cool, just know you have some bragging rights...I personally would take the candy. But that's just me, and I'm pregnant.

Whenever I feel sorry for myself because I am freezing, I guess I need to get a grip. We have it pretty good in BC. Pretty mild weather most of the time. I swear I will die of frost bite if we ever get posted back East where all Rob's relative's live. BRRRRR!Ok, so we're back. We got back late last night. We had a wonderful Christmas until the flu came to visit. Crofton is having a bit better day today, but he's still pretty sick. I read all your comments and laughed at lots of them! But there are too many to comment back on so, you will all just have to know that I did read and enjoy them. Yes, Mel, I agree, he has a GREAT ass....and that's not even a very good picture of it! Sideshow, I loved your ice shot molds and think the ice swizzle stick idea is fantastic! Jamwall, I'm sure if Richard had computer access and knew about your blog he would want to hold your hand too! And don't worry Duck, I'm back!

I missed you all, but enjoyed the blog break as well. I hope you all had a lovely holiday.

Thanks to everyone who entered my Christmas tree contest! I will go through it all in a bit and post the winners on the 1st of Jan. Don't forget that the contest is still open until Dec 30th at midnight! There is still time to email me your entry!

Even Santa has laundry.

This was pretty funny. Click HERE

So Rob went by the house that has Richard Simmonds held hostage in the window a couple days ago and came across these lovely new additions! Man I just love these people. He only had our old camera with him, so sorry they aren't the greatest photos.
I love that Richard is wearing a Santa hat and a boa! Now that's hot! (Don't forget to click on the link at the top!)

Don't forget to keep sending in your Christmas tree pictures for my Christmas tree contest! My email is . I will check for them. If you don't know what I'm talking about or what you can win, CLICK HERE and it should explain things for you.

Say goodbye to my moldy
pumpkins. I LOVED Fiona's suggestion (Fiona said... Put a Santa Claus hat on the pumpkin. You won't have to do anything else with it until Valentines day. ) so much, I had Tanya do this... but they were molding and I was too afraid of the possibilities of what I may come home to. So I had Rob throw them into our ravine. Crofton thought the whole thing was pretty cool.

Speaking of saying goodbye, it's that time of year. Some of us go away for the holidays, and, well, some of us don't. I'm part of the some that go away. Unlike T.Leach who will be taking
his kids on a dream vacation, I am just heading down to Vancouver to spend time with family. You all know what's coming don't you? That's right. I don't know how much blogging I will be able to do. Partly because my Mum uses her computer a lot for work and partly because the computer is in the same room that I put Crofton's play pen in for sleeping (and I normally do my blogging while he's sleeping). But I will check in as much as I can. I even have a few posts saved as draft so you won't miss me too much!

So Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!

tag, I'm it.

While checking out Phat's blog this morning, I remembered I was tagged yesterday from Frank the Tank. So here goes....5 random things about me.

1~Every year I plan on sending out Christmas cards and never do. Next year is the year. I can feel it!
2~I let my pierced ears grow over like 10 years ago and wish all the time that I hadn't but I'm too scared to poke anything through the over grown holes.
3~I have to try out any new flavor or brand of chips I see. Yesterday I came across T.G.I.Friday's Potato Skins chips (cheddar & bacon). I haven't tried them yet, I'm saving them for traveling on Friday. I also recently came across my new favorite from Kettle Chips. They are Honey Dijon and let me tell you...they are gooooooooood!
4~I can't sleep unless I have my sound therapy alarm clock on. I mix white noise and waterfalls together for a noise that successfully blocks out Rob's breathing (most nights). I bring it with me when I go to my parents too.
5~I love office supplies. I have since I was a little girl. My friend has a paper cutter at her office and I was so jealous when she called to tell me about it.

And now on with the next part of this tag. The passing of the tag... Because it's only 5 things, I really didn't mind this tag. It wasn't that hard. So here you go people.
I tag:
1~Big Mama

Just cleaning out some photo files.

So these are a few things I have had on my computer for ages. I just want to use them so I can get rid of them finally. You may find them interesting, you may not. Whatever.

Count the black dots...

If you can't read this, try pulling the corners of your eyes towards your ears

You may have to click to enlarge to see better. This is what stopped me from correcting my spelling mistakes while chatting on instant messangers.

I don't know what would happen if my dad tried this. He is color blind. Did you know that only men can be color blind? Weird hey?

Oh Christmas Tree. Oh Christmas Tree....

In the spirit of Christmas and the fact that all of your competitive streaks have surfaced due to all the contests out there lately, I am having a contest of my own. That's right. So get out your cameras and everyone go take a picture of your Christmas Tree. I will have a few catagories.
1~ Best Bachelor's Tree (we all know that the most beautiful will have been decorated by a woman, so I'm giving the single men a chance here)
2~ Most Beautiful
3~ Most Tacky
4~ Best child decorated effort or family effort
Email me your pictures of your trees at . Please be honest and only send me a picture of your tree. Well, if your sister-in-law just happens to have the tackiest tree you've ever seen, I will accept that entry, but I just mean no google searches ok? (And if you just happen to get a picture of your sister-in-laws tacky new shoulder tattoo in the photo, well, that just MAY gaurentee you a win!) People or animals can be in the photo. You can be creative, or you can just email the tree. Whatever you wish.
What's the prize? Well, I'm glad you've asked. "Bob, tell them what they can win will you?" **In best game show prize guy voice I can muster**..."Why certainly Cher! Each of you lovely contestants will be eligible to win one of these tasty treats!

Canadian Smarties!! That's right! I said Canadian Smarties!! Good luck to you all and MEEEERRY CHRISTMAS, EH???!!"

So to get the contest rolling, here is a picture of our Christmas tree. Trust me, It's prettier in person, so I will take that into consideration when I am making the final decisions.

Oh, and here is what Rob had to do for me to get the picture of our tree. We have it boxed in so Crofton can't get to it.

Good luck to you all!
Contest will close on December 30th, midnight. I know that's after Christmas, but I will be at my parents over the holidays and not too sure how much blogging I will be able to do. So I will announce the winners in the new year! Oh, and if you are like Phats and won't send me his address, then you can still enter! I can come up with some other kind of virtual prize!

So the one question most of you got wrong was about where Rob got bitten by a spider. Yes indeedy. It was infact his balls. But, it was back in September and I was in like my first week or so of blogging, so lots of you weren't reading this yet. Don't feel bad. I thought you all did pretty good! If you want to read about it, here's the whole story. SPIDER BITTEN BALLS

When I told my Dad about it, he asked where Rob got bitten and in a moment of panic I said his Nutsack. If you know my Dad at all, this will truly crack you up. We never talk about balls or any kind of privates in my parents house at all. Never mind the slang terms for them! I was really embarrassed when that slipped out but pleasantly surprised when he laughed. HARD!

Looking back on the posts from September, i really feel like that was some of my better stuff. It all seems to have taken a nose dive since then. i seem to be running out of steam. I think I need more protein.
this was funny. see if you can figure out who it is before it is finished.

The Obelisk of Buenos Aires is covered with a giant condom to commemorate World AIDS Day December 1, 2005. According to a report issued by ONUSIDA (UN AIDS), the number of people infected with the HIV virus in Latin America had risen over the last year from 1.6 to 1.8 million.

I wonder if it was cherry flavored too.

A pop quiz

Let's see if you are actually paying attention.

Take my Quiz on!

Thursday, December 08, 2005

The Ambae island's Manaro Volcano, which has been shooting steam, gas and ash up to 1,500 meters (4,500 feet) into the air for more than a week is seen in this image made from television aired Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005. Vanuatu officials assembled medical teams Wednesday to deal with a potential major emergency as the volcano blast out sulfur gas, volcanic ash and plumes of steam. Ambae, Vanuatu, is an hour's flight northeast from Port Vila and lies near the islands of Pentecost and Maewo, which could be used to help resettle people displaced by a major eruption.

The key point here being that these people have been watching this for more than a week. If they aren't preparing themselves for major disaster, other than just assembling medical teams, I am NOT sending them a freakin' DIME.

EDIT>>>As another thought, does anyone think I should NOT change the name??

Ok, so as I said, I am narrowing down potential blog titles. There were so many good suggestions that like I said, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by my choices. So, without further adieu....These are the ones I like.

~Take a'll last longer (this seems extremely fitting, because I do have a photo centered kind of blog / life....I have a camera and I'm not afraid to use it!! LOL!)

~cherapalooza ( I love this not only because it is funny, but because Jamwall suggested it. And I love Jamwall)

~Window Lickers Anonymous (now this seems to have the majority's vote, but it won't really make sense to anyone if I change my avatar. But I could always post the picture of Crofton licking the window in my side bar.)

~Clog your Blog (it goes without saying that Mel, the queen of all bloggers, is brilliant.)

~Canadian Dynamite! (My friend Tanya went one step further with her suggestion of Canadian Dynamite. Not only is it a truly great movie, and I love it, so it's suiting, but she actually took the time to do a little photoshopping for me. Come've got to admit that's freakin' funny! Two TOOTS for Tanya!!!! TOOT TOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
This link is crazy! As if. I sooo want one of these. I think the look on peoples faces would be priceless as I'm talking on this while driving!!

It's my sons party and I can cry if I want to....

Thanks everyone, for the birthday wishes for Crofton! I can't believe he is 1 already. This year has flown by, that's for sure. I thought I'd post a couple pics of the party, although my pictures aren't that great because I was busy being an ungracious host. I'm not kidding. I was beyond tired and everyone was being so loud that I felt like screaming and running away. But I held it together for the most part and was thrilled with the turn out considering it was snowing pretty hard that day!

Climbing up my leg!!

Lots of babies! Those are my sisters twin girls in pink.

The cake...

The birthday boy who was missing his nap, but was doing better than even I was! LOL!

Trying cake for the first time. I let him try the carrot cake instead of the actual birthday cake because the birthday cake was pure sugar.

This is the face he makes when trying anything new. Sometimes he shivers. It's cute.

Also, thanks for missing me too! I'm glad to be back and I have a lot of catching up to do on everyones blogs.

Everyones blog suggestions are so good that I am now overwhelmed with choices! I am narrowing it down though!

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

The party was fantastic! Crofton had a good time and got lots of cool presents!

Those are some great suggestions! Keep them coming! I will post something new tomorrow, even though my pictures aren't that great, i'll post a few anyway.

Help me help you...

As you may remember, I want to rename my blog and I asked for suggestions. And these are what people came up with...

~Clog your Blog
~the angry canadian
~my cherblogger
~british columbians gone wild
~spilled milk
~knowledge chering
~Coked Out Of My Mind
~Call Girl Emporium
~Armaedes' Mirror Site

~Tinfoil & Lint
~The Belly & The Beast
~The Mayor Of Port Hardy
~Random Pellets
~Holden's Momma
~Vitriolic Noodles
~Drop the Chalupa
~Take a'll last longer

I was going to say, all good suggestions, but that's simply not true! Some of them I just don't get, but that may just be me. I tend to not get things when I'm pregnant because this baby is sucking the funny right out of me, I swear.

So I am still open to suggestions, and then maybe I'll do a vote thing, since it seems like you all just can't get enough of the whole voting thing lately. Or, then again, maybe I won't.

So, your homework for this weekend is to really put your mind to it. Help me rename my blog!

I am going to my parents for the weekend because we are celebrating Crofton's first birthday!!! on Sunday. I can't believe he is almost 1 already. His birthday is officailly on the 7th, but we are doing the party thing on the 4th. This year has just flown by! Last year at this time I was looking down at my huge belly thinking "HOW ON EARTH AM I EVER GOING TO GET THIS OUT!!!!!"

Keep your blog name suggestions coming!!! Have a great weekend my peeps!

Learn to merge!!!!!!!!!!!!

You all know I procrastinate. It's true. And most of you know that we got snow the other day. It snowed again today a little more, but it still all adds up to barely any snow. Anyway. You probably remember me telling you a bit ago that Rob put the lights up on the house and I put our Christmas tree up right? But what I didn't tell you was that I have been too lazy to do anything with these. Now do i know how to procrastinate or what?

OK, I was on my cell phone (talking to Rob) in a store today and walked right through the stinkiest fart I 've smelled in ages! I couldn't help myself. I say to Rob entirely too loudly "EEEEEEEW I just walked through someones fart and it stinks soooo bad! I'm serious! My eyes are watering! That is disgusting!" Then I felt bad because after I had passed the culprit (who was now behind me) was when I bothered to look at this person only to realize it was like this 70 year old little lady. Who no doubt heard me, because that was originally my plan. Nice of me hey? But seriously, how gross is it to walk through some strangers fart?

In other topics...I love my car horn. I use it all the time. One of my biggest pet peeves in this world is people who don't know how to merge. It's not a hard thing to do, that's what bugs me so much. Trust me, if you are a bad merger and I'm anywhere near you, you will KNOW, without a doubt, I think you are a loser.
